Congratulations to 'WATER RAT' 385 - Rohan & Charlie Nosworthy for taking out the 2019/20 NSW MG14 State Titles.

In 3rd place, showing some exceptional upwind kite carrying skills(!), was 'WET N WILD' 352 sailed by Matthew Rhys-Jones and Morgan York

The Handicap Trophy State Champion was BALLISTIC 430 - Jordan Roberts carrying Geoff Davis around the course.

2nd Overall on Handicap, with a very creditable 3rd place on scratch in the last race, were juniors SFM BEAST 360 - Bezi Saunders and Lauren Jamieson from Northbridge.

2020/21 MG Events/Season update

Hi MG14 Members, sailors and supporters,

While COVID-19 is still with us, the situation is constantly changing around the world, and we are learning to adapt as best we can in our everyday lives - there is GREAT NEWS around the restrictions on sporting activities in NSW.

As of Sept 26th, these have all been lifted and allow normal club racing and Association events to be held this season!  There are still social distancing, limits on gathering and social events, and mandatory contact tracing, but nothing that will stop us getting on the water and competing.

*** NATIONAL TITLES UPDATE ***

The National Titles are still being planned as notified, but at present the QLD border situation is a daily evolving restriction.

If/when the borders open, it may leave little time to book accommodation for the titles, so if you are hoping to attend, it would pay to book now and ensure you have a cancellation policy that allows for late changes.

We wish would could provide a more definitive decision, but we really want it all to go ahead, but have no way of predicting what may happen here - we will leave any decisions as late as we can to try and have it all go ahead as planned.

2020-21 Australian Championship - Mon 28 December to Sat 2 January at Darling Point SS (Brisbane).

The nearby Royal Qld Yacht Squadron offers camping on site, and the below link from their website lists many other accommodation options.

NEW Alloy masts now available

The MG14 Association, in conjunction with the NS14 Assoc and Keeley Marine, have secured the supply of new Aluminium masts.

These have been made to an improved design, making them slightly stiffer sideways and more durable.  Weight and external appearance is very simliar to the 'Flightspar-style' we have all been familiar with over the past few decades.

To differentiate these new masts (and make them look really trick!), they are now available anodised BLACK.  Cost is $660 inc GST.

(Unanodised are also available ex-factory from Keeley Marine @$480).

Stock of the sections is available in Sydney via Barracouta Sails (02 9525 7626) at Caringbah, or complete rigged masts from Bryce at Infinity Rigging (02 9531 4900) at Taren Point.  Anyone interested in purchasing a mast, please first contact the MG Association. Payment will be to the Association, and you will need to make your own arrangements for collection or delivery from Barracouta or Infinity Rigging.  Sections are also available for purchase from the Keeley Marine factory in Melbourne (03 9555 4622)

Infinity Rigging also have stock of top and bottom plugs, halyard locks, rotator arms and gooseneck fittings to fit the new section.
